I’m an American as well as have not long ago been diagnosed with a condition GERD (Acid Reflux Disease). For me, this presents itself, not as heart burn, though rather, as distressing go by as well as behind pain. To forestall as well as heal this, my alloy has told me eat a really bland, non-acidic diet, avoiding most foods, though especially, we am not to have make use of of spices. Extensive investigate continues to simply say, "avoid spices"…seemingly, ALL spices. Most of my in progress is Indian dishes, though most of a artificial flavouring have been not "hot" or "spicy". While we assimilate which it is most appropriate to equivocate chili peppers, black peppers as well as alternative "hot" spices, there have been most which have been mild…cumin, turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, a little curry blends, etc., though we can find no report upon specific spices…only instructions to equivocate ALL spices. This seems really drastic. One reason we eat especially heavily spiced food is since most of a artificial flavouring have been so profitable to great health. For instance, receiving 2.5 grams of cinnamon, churned in to fourteen grams of honey, daily, has utterly separated my before really bad arthritis pain. And so, is it indeed required to equivocate ALL artificial flavouring whilst we provide this GERD condition?

Also…I am told to equivocate onions as well as garlic, though we consternation if solemnly as well as entirely in progress them will revoke a poison as well as have them acceptable with my condition.

I would conclude your recommendation as well as opinions…particularly from healing professionals as well as those which have additionally had GERD. we am looking to provide this though a have make use of of of drugs, though rather, by correct diet as well as presumably spices or by alternative healthy means.

Thank we really much.

First thing to realize is your doctor is clueless as to what causes GERD based on the advice he gave you. He has been indoctrinated by the drug companies that are making billions on huge amounts of misinformation.

You should NOT have to avoid any foods and should not be getting GERD. GERD is a made up term and it is NOT a disease. The reason they call it a disease is so they can prescribe a medication for you to make it legal and to follow their "Standard of care" for peer reviews.

GERD or acid reflux is the result of LOW STOMACH ACID (hydrochloric acid production – HCL). HCL is made in your stomach for several functions. The first being sanitization of the food you eat. This kills the germs in food such as bacteria, parasites, viruses, etc. that can harm you. The next thing it does is break down proteins, primarily, into their respective amino acids. As we age, we make less and less HCL and by the time we are 70, we are producing about 5% of what we did at 25 years old. The parietal cells uses SALT for the chloride ion to make HCL. If your diet is deficient in salt, you will not make good HCL.

In addition to the HCL, potassium is important to make sure you have the combination of HCL and potassium to methylate your cells. Many things cause you to stop producing good stomach acid, but processed foods are top of the list because they use up the limited supply you have and this creates a deficiency. Any scars or traumas, such as tattoos, piercings, injury scars, surgeries, etc. on the front of the body can cause the parietal cells to be subdued and not utilize the HCL and cause the problem.

Rotting food is the primary thing that gives you the acid feeling, the methane gas production, and reflux. Rotting, putrefying food produces LACTIC ACID that is the bad guy in all this. Hydrochloric acid has the opposite effect. Typically, the pancreas is over worked by this time when you have low HCL production and this adds to the problem because 95% of the food you eat is digested in the small intestine where pancreatic enzymes are put.

If you have a low HCL production or is being used up rapidly, then the pH of the chyme (food from the stomach) going into the small intestine is too high. This minimizes the signaling of the cells lining the small intestine to send more pancreatic enzymes for digestion.

Bottom line is you don’t need antacids because that STOPS THE DIGESTIVE PROCESS and creates many more health problems. A VERY DUMB SOLUTION and demonstrates the ignorance of those prescribing that.

What you need is an inexpensive approach that will not only solve the reflux problem, but give you a great extension on your life expectancy. You need to take a DIGEST, HCL made from a once living source, and HCL Activator to cause the re-methylation of your cells and enhance the action of the HCL.

The affects of Arthritis is inflammation, but is due to an INFECTION in the joints and bone that you need to address. Getting rid of the symptoms of pain is good, but you need to do more than that and get rid of the root cause. Low stomach acid plays a big part in allowing viruses, bacteria, and fungus into the body, giving them free reign. If your body is acidic inside and not alkaline, that can create lots of problems allowing the germs to breed. When the pH of the food from the stomach is low enough as a result of adequate HCL in the stomach, that low pH triggers the pancreas and liver to produce Bicarbonate that neutralizes the chyme naturally. If the pH is not low enough, the bicarbonate isn’t triggered and the slightly acidic condition of that chyme from lactic acid further damages the integrity of the colon.

I suggest you see a Certified Nutritional Therapist that can truly help you with these issues and forget the DRUGS that will only damage your body and make things a lot worse for the future. You do not have to suffer with these things.

good luck to you

I will say ‘all spices’.
You have given a good example of cinnamon. You find it beneficial for your arthritis. Similarly, all spices may have some beneficial effects in some conditions. Should we take all of them even if we don’t have those conditions?
The spices are in general stimulant (or for sensitive individuals- irritant) to the stomach. If we already feel hungry, and specially in present era of weight-consciousness, should we take appetite stimulants even though we are already eating enough?
If once we start eating blend food, we will not have any desire for spices of any kind. We may take any one or two of them as medicine, that’s different.
Hope it helps.
All the best!

When I was diagnosed with GERD (5 years ago), I did a lot of searching online for specific items that they say to avoid and I’ve been testing them over the years. I find things that they say to avoid are fine while other that should be fine, aren’t. It’s an individual thing. For me garlic, curry, red and chili peppers are bad. Onions and black pepper are fine. I’ve never noticed any problems with cinnamon. Sometimes ginger will cause me grief but not always. My personal recommendation is to keep your new diet very strict for a while and then start experimenting to see what does and doesn’t work for you.

Oh, I’ve also found that if I think of a food or flavor, I can judge whether or not I should eat it. If the thought of a food upsets my stomach or makes me feel a little ill, I stay away from it. If I crave a food or I feel fine when thinking about it, I am free to eat it.

Good luck.

Oil,butter, coffee and tea are the main culprits.
Spicy food doesn’t exacerbate GERD symptoms.
