You should have retained the copies of these money orders. Hopefully you made them out to the appropriate party and not to an individual. If you made them out to the individual and that person has taken your funds you may not have legal recourse.

If however, you made them out to the business, then you would only need to show your copies to verify your "proof of payment." The business would be responsible in getting those funds from the person who, basically, embezeled them.

Even Western Union would likely have records of the transaction that they would be able to provide you with.

If you have the receipts then you are covered.
