Hello. When I met my future husband he had 3 kids from a previous marriage and had a vasectomy 8 years prior. We were so nervous about getting a reversal done, mainly because of the impact it would have on our emotions if it was unsuccessful. Anyway, we had the operation done in Feb 07 (a year after we got together). It cost around 2000 pounds (UK), so around $4000 for you guys in Canada (assuming the cost is equivalent). I won’t lie, it was stressful! It took around 7 months and a number of tests before we found out he was producing sperm again, however it was a low count and a low motility. We always though we might still need IVF. Anyway, in April 08 we started trying, and fell pregnant 4 months later. Our baby boy is due in April 09. Choose a good doctor with published success statistics, and even if the count/motility is low you can still get pregnant! Best of luck to you both x
