Would we take a risk? Also has any a single got any stories about there reversals?
Thanks
Original vasectomy was 6 years ago – my father is 28.

my friend’s husband had a reversal after 7yrs. It didn’t work and they have gone through 8 rounds of IVF and have only just finally fallen pregnant with twins. She is now about 10wks along. It has taken them more than 3 years and cost them an arm and a leg not to mention the emotional rollercoaster ride. And now they have the worry about the pregnancy continuing and being two babies, it carries its own risks….
However another couple I know had a reversal after 14yrs and fell pregnant naturally after 2 mths.
The success rate also depends on the type of vasectomy hubby had in the first place. Was it a total cut of the tube or was it just blocked/tied off? Only your doctor can tell you what he thinks your particular chances of being successful are but for your sake I hope they are high! Wait until you have a personal consult before making the decision
I had a vasectomy done 28 years ago. We had two children. That was all that I wanted. My wife then agreed, we talked it over with our doctor, and we both had to sign the paper for me to get the surgery. It was well thought out. I never changed my mind. My now ex wife tried to talk me in to getting a reversal but I did not want to go through the process. I think it is not a good idea, The success rate is even lower than you have stated. Also how long, has he had the vasectomy this really plays a part. If he has had the surgery too long, it is doubtful that it can be reversed. But of course a doctor who has a surgry apt open for next week can work you in, if you have the cash.
there are SIX BILLION people in the world. if you seriously want to add to that number, consider the fact that $10,000 is NOT that expensive when you calculate how much diapers are gonna cost! and formula! and clothes. college. cell phones. soccer uniforms. cheerleading uniforms.
Goodness, i get a headache just trying to add all that up. BELIEVE ME, $10,000 is CHEAP compared to what it feels like to be a mom. (or dad)
It is unethical and not worth it. The success rate is less than 30%. As someone else stated, the cost of the surgery is peanuts compared to the cost of the delivery room alone.
Also consider the fact that the world has changed since you had your other two. The economy is not going to get better. Your other two children were born into a "First World" country. The USA is no longer "First World".
