Rights can be waived. Laws can not be waived.
You can’t waive a law.
You can waive a right, as the other person above mentioned.
You can consent to something that would be illegal if not consented to (ie. asking someone to punch you.).
You can not file or register a complaint or suit when a you have been the victim of a broken law. (ie. Not sue someone over the lemon car you bought).
