Lemon law covers only new cars. In VA its only good for the first 18 months from the date the car was first sold.

No.
When buying a used car, warranties have to be stated. No warranty no recourse. Even with a car dealer it is the same. But a car dealer is expected to state any known problems, but a private seller is under no such obligation. If you don’t ask they don’t have to tell.

No not private party,not unless you were given a specific warranty, should have used cars checked at a shop before you buy because it is buyer be wear.
