I’m the anniversary employee, where we work for this specific leasing association which does art work as well as creations during Six Flags. Park stays open from Apr until November. I’ve been operative for this leasing association for 5 seasons right away as well as was not prolonged ago promoted–I’ve left behind each year. we have the many knowledge as well as I’m the single of their most appropriate workers. I’ve never gotten any complaints prior to as well as we additionally got glorious reviews each year from my trainer as well as supervisors. However, we have this really heated be concerned which we could get dismissed for no reason where my trainer won’t discuss it me because as well as not be means to come behind subsequent year given this is an "at will" company; we live in an "at will" state. Because of the "at will" policy, my trainer can confirm to not let me come behind subsequent year for no reason or something utterly trivial, similar to for operative there for as well prolonged or not fondness the sold tone he likes, etc. Because of this bad economy, we can’t certitude my trainer upon all the great things he says about me; we have the tough time desiring him. Is there the great reason for me to be concerned here? Should we move up this regard with my boss, or do we only need to chill out as well as keep it to myself so which we won’t come opposite as being crazy?

I’ve talked about this with my mom, my boyfriend, as well as my therapist, as well as they all pronounced we was undiscerning as well as full of sh*t. I’m now seeking for alternative jobs which we will all hatred only so which we can feel similar to I’m somebody, means I’m fundamentally the nobody if I’m not working. Any submit is appreciated here, as well as greatfully NO spamming about income ideas.

Step back. You’re being silly to distrust all the nice things your boss says about you because of the economy.

His opinion of your work performance and the condition of the economy are NOT RELATED.

Trust that your boss thinks your are a good employee.

Know that the economy may mean changes in the future and plan accordingly.

Don’t bother your boss with your worries. Right now no one can promise anyone a job as much as they’d like to. It doesn’t mean all the nice things he said aren’t true.

Listen – you’ve paid your dues, and have been retained there for 5 years. That says a lot.

Job security went out with manual typewriters and phone booths. Time was, you were virtually guaranteed lifetime employment with the same company (our parents). No more. Now you’re employeed virtually minute-by-minute, instead of year-to-year.

Trust your boss and yourself for the good job you’ve done=promo. Take pride in that, and don’t worry. Don’t bring up your concern. The fact that you’re still working there speaks volumes-your boss thinks highly of you.

Good luck.

Keep up with those therapist appointments, you sure as hell need them.

A lot of jobs have the clause where they can let you go at will. If your therapist dismissed your fear, then I think you need to find a new one. I think you need to address your anxiety and talk to your boss about your fears and maybe he can put to rest your uneasiness. It doesn’t seem to me though that you have anything to worry about.

has your boss given you reason to not believe his praise before? i don’t think so. in fact he’s promoted you, so he obviously thinks quite highly of you! it’s easy to be irrational sometimes, we all get like that, but you just need to try and rationalise it- do you have any reason to think he would lie? has he given you false compliments in the past?
you have no reason to think anything bad will happen, if it does, you will cope.
good luck

CHILL.
You’ve worked for this company for five years, recently got promoted, have the most experience and are one of their best workers with "excellent reviews every year" from your superiors.
There is little more you can do. Keep up the great work and stop — STOP — stressing about something which apparently exists ONLY in your mind.
And do NOT breathe a whisper, much less a word, about these thoughts to anyone in your work environment, especially your boss! (That could affect how he sees you and your wonderful job.)

What are you worried about? After everything you just detailed, you should be OK. The economy has a great many people worried about their jobs too but you should not be one of those. Don’t say anything to your boss, do your work and stop worrying. If you do get laid off, so what? You will find other employment eventually. But why worry about something that might never come around? Keep going, you’re good.

Chill out and keep it to yourself. No job is guaranteed no matter where you are working so just stay where you are and enjoy it. They seem to think you are a great employee so believe them.

I wouldn’t worry about it so much, it sounds like you are a good employee and a valuable asset to the company. If you were to be fired over something trivial, it would be their loss. You could always get another job, because you are a good employee.

don’t worry
tough economy?
it is tough for your boss as much as for you
think
how hard it is to get another worker like you?
easy?
then worry
hard?
you have nothing to worry about
since your boss needs you really bad and it is easier to just keep you than find a new one

Uhm.. wait.. you’ve been promoted, you’re one of their best workers and now you’re looking for a job to be somebody? Yeah, I guess you’re irrational… enjoy your work, relax, and keep up the good work.

If your therapist thinks you are full of sh*t, who am I to disagree with him! Sounds like he ought to increase the dosage of those happy pills, and it also sounds like a good idea that you have a job from Dec-Mar and get on with your life.
