Hi Jimi, I believe you were charged for data usage. There is very little details given on your question so I’m guessing what happened. MMS can be downloaded in 2 ways, automatically and manually. If you have the settings for MMS/GPRS on your phone and you have coverage. The MMS should be retrieved automatically, although this process is data usage, most service providers classify this as MMS retrieval and do not charge data usage for this. However, if you do not have the correct settings or if you are temporarily out of coverage, the MMS will not be retrieved automatically and you will need to download it manually. Most service providers will consider this as a separate download and charge for data usage.
There is another possibility here. The 1 cent charge is quite typical for a 1 kb data charge. Sending requests online to request for a result is also makes use of data even if you didn’t receive any results. You could have accidentally sent a search request through your mobile internet.
