The biggest problem, in America, today, is nobody is forced to face consequences for their actions. He, made a choice, by getting a vasectomy (a good choice). Now as a consequence, of that choice, he will have no more children. I he has his vasectomy reversed, he is bucking the system, and avoiding the consequences of his, choice. How are you going to explain to your future child about actions and consequences when you didn’t face the consequences yourself? That sounds like poor parenting.
I had a vasectomy for my 22nd birthday. I think it was the greatest gift I could have ever given myself. Expecting him to reverse his vasectomy is like taking away the best gift a man could ever receive.
BTW: Expect to pay more than $10K for him to get a vasectomy reversal.
Isn’t a vasectomy reversable?
You’re most likely better to adopt or go to the sperm bank and have a baby that way
It is reverable for men. Also you can have your egg fertilized.
You could have artificial insemination, but it too would be expensive. And it would have to be somebody else’s sperm since your boyfriend doesn’t release sperm. The only way for you to have a child that is biologically both of yours is for him to have a reversal. Even with an ovarian cyst you are most likely still releasing an egg each month, at least from the other ovary. Good Luck to you, I hope you can figure this out.
Artificial insemination is also very expensive. If you want to go that route, he might not be able to be the father (he’s shooting blanks).
go for the vasectomy reversal, ivf and artificial insemination is so expensive and it can soon mount up at least you stand a chance of getting pregnant naturally first.
Vasectomys are not 100%…actually they are only about 80%. there are still chances to get pregnant through that but not VERY common. The best way is reverals. Artificial insemintation is not likely to work since he was clipped and tied off to stop sperm from coming through. The only other option is if he had frozen sperm for future use. Which i believe is always a must for sitiuations like this.
adoption is always a possibility as well.
I hope this helped and you find a way to have your bundle of joy.
I know you said a vasectomy reversal is expensive, but maybe insurance would cover it? You could go through a sperm donor or adopt, as well.
I STRONGLY suggest researching various doctors and compare the prices for the vasectomy reversal. If this is something that you really want, the money won’t matter. Also, if you have a primary doctor, ask for referrals that are within your own hospital and see how much insurance will cover, if any. Most private doctors take major credit cards. If you budget wisely, it is do-able. Do you and your boyfriend plan on staying together for the rest of your lives? I ask because this is something you need to consider before spending this money and going through the stress of the reversal and then actually TTC. You may also want to look into donors. Regardless, all of this will cost you something. Just be sure that this is the person that you want to go through it with.
Good Luck to you!
You can do IVF using his sperm. Even though he is not releasing any sperm he is still producing sperm. He will have have to have it surgically removed. They make a small incision into the one of the testicles and remove it from the vesicles. This is also done on men who have a low sperm count. Then they will do the IVF using the ICSI method. That is were they insert the sperm directly into the egg.
The price range can be from 5 to 12 thousand depending on location and insurance. Some insurance will pay for some or all of it depending on the type and what needs to be done. You can do some research and make an appointment to see an RE specialist for any questions you might have or prices and if your insurance will cover it.
We have been ttc for 18 months. We are going to do IVF at the end of the year. My husband has very low sperm count. If he can’t produce enough sperm they are going to surgically retrieve some.
Best Wishes and Baby Dust.
Life…
Amazes me that people can attach a price tag to it…
What is it worth to you?
How much does it mean to you?
Why would you let price stop you?
Life… is priceless…
Maybe the medical community can attach a price to it, to have an IVF, or Reversal of a Vasectomy… But over all it is up to you to value what the price of life is, and it is obvious that you value it low.
I want to have children, I always wanted to be a father, but because of whatever, I cannot, and I would pay anything to be able to do it, to me, it is priceless…
Stardust Fairy is the best answer, she is 100% correct, so if you really want children, that is your best choice…
Crack open the check book, or check your insurance…
It cost money but is not 100%
