IMO you still need to give the reversal time to work. When it gets to be a year post-op, then you might consider IVF if you can afford it. And you should probably freeze as much sperm now as you can, in case the VR is "scarring over". Other options are to try to boost counts by use of multivitamins, boxers, no hot tubs, no lap top computers (anything that’d apply heat to that area), and living a clean, healthy lifestyle. Also, try to get him on Clomid…this fertility drug not only makes women produce eggs, it also boosts sperm counts in men. Also, he should be taking an anti-inflamatory such as naproxen…which has recently been studied and shown to not be determental to sperm. I hope you get your BFP soon. Many reversal couples have to ttc for over a year (as do many couples in general actually).

Hi Leslie, sorry to hear that it is still not improving. I really hope it will happen soon, because i know how you feel. My hubby went to have yet another count done on Monday. The damn doctor still hasnt come back to us!!! He had the first spoerm count done 3 months after and it was 24 million which was said to be more than enough, but now after 7 months of trying after the op I am starting to think that maybe the motility or something is not right so he went to have a full analysis done. Will most prob find out today and let you know! I am sure the count will improve with time. Our doc said 12 months afetr the op it should reach its peak and stay there. Lets hope so! I know the wait is terrible, but i am sure things will work out just fine. It is easy to say IVF is an option, but do people know hopw much the reversal costs!?! Can’t help you on that, but on Discovery health, they recommended that men with low sperm counts have smoothies with 1 cup of anti-oxident fruit twice daily. The smoothies consisted of whole fat yogurt, orange juice, a banana and usually berries of some kind. Alternatively, 8 oz glass of grape juice daily.
