Lemon laws don’t apply to a 14 year old, used vehicle. You bought the car "as is" and there is your answer. Do you not understand what "as is" means? You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble by getting the car checked out before you bought it.

Your vehicle will not qualify for an Ohio Lemon. The laws are very strict and a car that old is a "buy at your own risk." Other than asking the dealership to help fix it, there is nothing you can do.

Sorry. It’s your car now and there’s nothing you can do. This is why, on this answer board, we suggest every day that people ALWAYS get a mechanic to inspect their car BEFORE they buy. Never take the word of the seller about a car’s condition.

There is a lemon law in Ohio for used cars. This site should hopefully help you figure out if what happened to you falls under the lemon law for Ohio or not.

There is usually no lemon law on used cars its for new only. You already said the two words that say it all "as is " means no warranty . The only thing you can do it just keep fixing it or sell it.

Buy a new transmission, and next time do research on Edmunds.com before you buy a 14 year old car that was only made to last 8 years, lol.

You bought it "as is", so you are as is- screwed. Sorry.

Usually Lemon law applies to New vehicles and since you bought the car "As Is" it means that you may have screwed yourself since "as is" means you void your right to Lemon Law. (again not sure about Ohio laws…)

First of all try speaking with the dealership, they sometimes would rather take the car back and refund your money rather than have an Attourney General compalint against them (especially if the car was only 1100) but you may have to bite the bullet on this one…sounds like the dealership has the upperhand legally.
