I seriously doubt it, my Wife and I just did that 2 months ago and our loan officer told us that they were not even looking at anyone with scores under 720.
It depends on what you mean by poor credit.
A lot of people think they have really poor credit when it’s not that bad. There are still companies lending to lower credit scores though. You have to understand you will pay a super high interest rate(probably higher than you have right now even though rates are down)
Another option is to go through a credit repair place. You’ll pay a lot for that as well, and it’ll only "fix" your credit for a very short time frame(basically what they do is dispute everything on your credit report. It all comes off because companies do not respond in the time frame, then you get your loan real quick, but then it’ll all be back on) A guarantee is never given and it won’t fix you permanently.
Best idea, stick with what you have right now. In fact, chances are your home’s value has decreased and probably decreased to the point that getting cash out won’t even be an option. There is NO ONE lending up to 100% anymore. Most are likely to not go over 85%. And most lenders won’t even look at an appraisal that was done before and will want a new one. (We won’t accept appraisals from 2008 even right now)
It will depend on HOW bad the credit is, how much equity you have in the home, and how much interest you want to pay.
If you have a 500 credit score, want to take a 99% mortgage, and don’t want to pay 15% interest, you can stop reading now.
If your score is low 700s, you want to increase your mortgage to 75%, and can handle 7% you can probably do it.
