I do not have the franchise with my property owner (she lives downstairs, knows we reside there). we have lived in the unit for 9 months. When we changed in, we changed in with the believe I’d have the roommate. In the 9 months, my roommate has been around usually 5 or 6 times. He owns the tiny commercial operation down the street, as well as wants to lease his room out to the single of his employees. He fundamentally told me he is you do this, did not ask me..I am the female, it’s the male (he is entrance in from an additional country, as well as my roommate wants to "sponser" him). He is subsidizing the guys lease in sell for work. Can he do this? Do we not have any rights? He has radically deserted the apt. as well as we have been you do all the maintain as well as profitable half the rent. It is not my complaint if he chooses not to be around since he has an additional home with his girlfriend–I done the primary agreement with him, not for the stranger. we live in NYC as well as it’s really tough to find decent housing, we live in the good place-don’t wish to move!

u have NO lease = u have NO rights implied or stated.
time to pack up and find a new leased apartment.
u are in a legal mess and u haven’t seen it yet. Get Out before u get hurt. sorry time to move else where.
Since there is no written lease you should be able to talk to the landlord and explain the situation to her. Ask her if you can get your own roommate instead of having the current roommate push on in on you. She may agree. You might need to cover his half of the rent until you get a decent roommate in the place.
Good Luck.
