I’m removing sleepy of being charged for those messages, as well as replying to them (or not) to stop messaging me. I’m regulating this nauseous phone to save income though it’s silly how most messages from opposite people I’ve gotten. Is this normal? Can ATT do something about this?

1st option tell att to refund you and give you a new number

or

dump it and get a burner…

Burners are at pricedizzy.com

Most likely, it was someone else’s number that recently lost the number. Just tell them to stop texting you and that the old owner no longer owns this number. All you can do about it is that, or ask for a new number..

Um, they gave you a number without holding it, meaning, they recycled the phone number immediately, so whomever got rid of it, you are getting their messages. I would call the ATT customer service desk and tell them you want a different number, they may not want to, but complain until they do. They can, and they are not supposed to take those numbers out of rotation for 3 months, meaning, it is not supposed to be reused for 3 months, so that this does not happen. Tell them you want all of those texts credited!! and make sure you know exactly the ones you have texted. Should be easy to know your friends numbers , and tell them that you had no idea they gave you a number that had not been out of service!!!
When they tell you, "But you did text back" You say, I thought only MY friends were texting. These were the previous owners texts, and I thought they were from my friends, who may have got a new phone as well…
Be persistant, stick to your guns…
