How/where can I check to see if my payroll taxes have been paid?

I expostulate the lorry which is leased to the company, the owners is in the Army stationed in Korea. He has the third celebration taxation preparer/accountant do my payroll (i am his usually employee). we have this feeling which my sovereign self-denial as well as amicable confidence taxes have not been paid. If you are an employee, you will get a W-2 at the end of the year showing how much was withheld for federal, state, social security, and medicare. Each pay stub should also have this information. If you don’t see it, just like the other people said, you need to first contact payroll, then call the IRS. Make sure you have your SSN and the EIN of the company when you call.

The company may be treating you as a contractor and not an employee. In that case, they aren’t supposed to nor will they withhold payroll taxes. That is your responsibility. In that case, see a tax professional or do your own research on how to submit quarterly estimated tax payments to the IRS.

Call the IRS and talk to them about this situation. If they haven’t maybe you can set something up with them when you talk to them. But if he has been withholding taxes from you and not paying into the IRS he could be in some trouble also.Good luck to you.

You can call the IRS and ask , why not ask the one doing the payroll? You can ask the state also. Usually their number is in the Gvt. part of the phone book. Yes, that’s very important and If it’s not on your pay stub, chances are they aren’t doing it. Better find out.

As far as I know, your employer is the only one who responsible for submitting the taxes. It does not matter whether or not he deduct the taxes from you or not.

Tax Man is generally correct on this but I need to add: Why do you care? If you are an employee and you are issued a W-2 showing this withholding then it is the sole responsibility of the employer to have paid the tax, not yours. I would be very surprised if the IRS or SS Admin would give you any information concerning your employer’s filing and payment record. This is private information and Data Privacy does apply. You will receive a refund (if you have one coming) even if he has failed to pay the withholding. Your social security account will be credited also. You only need worry if you do not receive a W-2 by February 1st of 2007. If that comes pass then contact the IRS with his Employer ID Number.
