It depends on your school. 3975 isn’t the amount that you will have to pay. It’s an amount that the school uses to figure out your student aid (grants). You will be able to also get student loans (you won’t need a cosigner and they don’t check your credit for them), they do have to be paid back after being out of school for 6 months. Try contacting the financial aid office wherever you are going, or look at the schools website, most of them have links for scholarship searches and they also will have a link to apply for scholarships that are set up directly for the school. Unless you have been legally adopted by your grandmother it is illegal for you to put her information on the fafsa as your parent. Read the FAQ’s about "who’s income should I report". You need to fix this asap.
