We did. DH is 25 and I am 23. I am the problem, I have Endo. We stimmed for 10 days. At our ER I only had 12 eggs and only 3 fertilized. We transferred all 3 at ET, 9 days later I recieved my first ever BFP. I was so sure it did not work but it did and we are having twins. I am only 14.4 weeks so I have along way to go but it was all worth it. Do not lose faith, it can happen.Try to get support! Good luck!
Of course there have been people who have had success with their first try with ivf.
What I think you are looking for is the statistic that about 30% of ivf procedures to go to completion result in a pregnancy. So unless your doctor tells you that there are certain signs that you are less likely to get pregnant than the average couple (such as poor response to various fertility medications), you will have about a 30% chance of getting pregnant with your first try.
Not at all. It took us over a year before we conceived. It gets very frustrating i know believe me. Then when we did get pregnant the whole first trimester was very scary. The ivf process takes time as well. Good Luck…
My one friend just had ivf in June, her first try. She is now pregnant with twins and just found out that one’s a boy and one’s a girl. It is definitely possible to work on the first try, but it is also possible to not work. Just luck I guess. Good luck and best wishes hun!
60% sure is a big chance of it working!! I really hope it does work for you!!
My brother-in-law and his wife tried for 7 years the natural way, to no avail. They got pregnant through IVF on the first try. I don’t know how typical that is, but now we’ve got 7-year-old Ethan to prove that it definitely works for some people the first time! Thank goodness too…I don’t know the price now, but back then it was $10,000, so they probably wouldn’t have tried a second time. My thoughts are with you! Best wishes!
Oh, I also want to add that while age does make a difference, my sister-in-law was also 39 at the time, so age was against her, but it worked out! I don’t know how old you are, but don’t lose hope!
Not me. I am about to start number 4. But I know LOTS of women who have. My cousin and a cousin-in-law both got pregnant on their first IVF attempt. I have also met a lot of women online at fertilethoughts.com who have had success on their first attempt.
60% is great! You must be at a great clinic! Pat yourself on the back for finding a good one! You can compare your clinics’ success to others at sart.org. Also, the younger you are the higher your odds!
Best of luck to you!
