I’m a success story. And you will be too. One way or another, if you want a baby with your fiance and he’s agreeable, then you will have one! A reversal with a microsurgeon VR expert is a great way to start and the sooner, the better since success rates go down the older a vasectomy is. Bank some sperm at the time of reversal, so that if by chance it would fail, you could still use his sperm for IVF. We reversed very quickly after our hasty and unthoughtout V. Thankfully, the VR worked and it didn’t take us long to conceive our miracle VR son. Honey, you can have your man and his baby too. Check out the source below for some good info on getting a VR and a message board as well as lists of doctors who do VR and questions you should ask. Finally seach engine the term "vasectomy reversal message board" and pick a good site and visit it’s boards as well. GL
Good news…yes! My aunt and uncle had two boys and then he had a vasectomy. A few years later she decided she didn’t feel complete and wanted to try for a girl so she had him get a reversal. Luckily for them, they had a girl! So yes, they were very successful (and my sousin is 14 now so the procedures are even better now than they were 15 years ago)!!
I run an online support group for men with chronic pain after vasectomy. Vasovasostomy (vasectomy reversal) is the best evidence based treatment for these men with chronic pain, so many of the men in my group have had a reversal. Several have since had a successful pregnancy, however, the main reason they had the reversal was for chronic pain (congestive epididymitis or post-vasectomy pain syndrome).
It is interesting that all of the men who developed chronic pain have told me they would rather have had any number of more children than have had the vasectomy if they knew in advance about the chronic pain and its effect on their lives and sexual function.
Perhaps your partner would consider a reversal to have children?
