I live in the United States and have had laser hair removal treatment for quite a while now, probably about 2 years, so I’ll use my experience to answer what I can.
1. My treatments were in between the eyebrows to separate them
2. I have to say that I am incredibly happy with my treatment. The hair is all but gone now and not noticable at all, and the treatments weren’t painful in the least.
3. How many sessions I have had is a difficult question because your hair grows at it’s own pace, and the time it takes in between sessions depends on how long your hair takes to grow back. I would say that I had one session every month at first, and toward the end one every few months.
4. The cost of the session all depends on what you wish to have removed. Much like with anything, the general rule is that the cost goes up with service. So, the more hair removed, the more money removed from your wallet. I could give an estimate, but unless you are more specific I would strongly recommend that you call wherever you would get the hair removal and get a quote. I will say that it costs much more than a razor or wax, but laser hair removal thins hair and may eventually get rid of it completely.
5. The questions you should ask should be tailored to whatever type of hair removal you are getting. A man getting his shoulders zapped is, of course, going to have different concerns than someone having some form of facial hair removed. Cost is a definate question that should be addressed, but one that is much more important is where you need the treatment, and where they CAN treat. Laser hair removal does not work on light hair, so if peach fuzz is your problem then you’re out of luck. If you truly feel in the dark about the subject, try looking up facts on google or writing your questions down so you don’t forget them.
6. Like I said before, laser hair removal ONLY works on dark hair. Another important thing is that the hair doesn’t immediately come out, so don’t freak out thinking it isn’t working a few minutes after the treatment. The hair needs to be wiped off with a damp towel after the treatment. This can be done later that day after washing your face or taking a shower. Finally, make sure you don’t have a tan when getting the treatment, so you may want to wait until winter to start your treatments. Why can’t you have a tan? Well like I said I’m not too sure of the science behind laser hair removal, but my technician explained that the treated areas may get darker or remain tan longer if you have the treatments when you have a tan, leaving spots on your skin.
All in all some of it may sound scary, but my experience was completely positive and I strongly recommend the treatment. To take the shock out of your first treatment, be sure to ask the technician to warn you before the first zap!
I have never actually had it done personally, but let me just say this, you may notice these hairs but I honestly doubt anyone else takes a second glance at them! But if they make you feel bad, god ahead and get rid of them
