If the dealer knew it was a salvaged car and informed and had you sign accepting the deal then it's legal. If the dealer didn't know and can prove he didn't know, then it's up to a court to decide. It is illegal to drive a vehicle with a bent frame, the officer is right in telling you that. A dealer can sell almost any type of vehicle whether it's road worthy or not as long as he informs the buyer and it is sold stating AS-IS No Warranty, Parts ONLY, and any other brand on a title. But he has to tell you up front and have you sign stating you know this. If you bought it knowing all this and signed accepting this, then he is not responsible for you not reading what you signed and accepted. If he didn't follow the law in vehicle sales then he is liable.

The lemon law does not apply to used vehicles. It is your responsibility to check the vehicle out thoroughly prior to purchase.

No. Lemon laws only cover new cars, and even if it was a new car, the salvaged status would void any warranty.
