I’m a 29 year old male and i know exactly how your feeling. I’m a little caveman and it’s the one thing that i actually dislike about myself. So about a year ago i decided to get laser hair treatment. I decided to do some research and the main things that got my attention were the following

- This is a cosmetic procedure, so it wasn’t on the NHS meaning i would have to pay
- Numerous places offer, similar treatments i.e. Beauty Salons and Tattoo removal (they have laser) and eye surgeons (laser)
- I also knew they have different types of machines i.e. Epilight, Depi light. Some used electric pulses (electrolysis) some used light and others lasers.

Based on the above i went on many sites, even this one to ask the public and the answers were rubbish. (people would give you links to sites, you have already visited) No one could answer my question which was very simple

Does laser hair removal work?? And you will get links and you will get beauticians or medical group telling you it depends on the colour of your skin and the hair type colour. At this point i will tell you on have pale white skin and dark hair making me the perfect candidate.

Treatments: I wanted the best laser as i figured i’m only going to do this once so i want the best and a professional to administer the treatments. I hoped for a medical Group (throw a name in front of that and you get the company)

6 treatments: 1 hour long £1300 : I went ahead with this. I’m guna do quick bullet points now

- Does it hurt, it’s not comfortable but that depends on the person doing the treatment. They need to catch the hair in it’s growth stage, so that the light shoots down the follicle and reacts with the melanin (i can;t spell that, lets just call it melon) and its explodes the follicle, stunting future growth. Take it in mind the body has massive amount of hair follicles. If you have ever been waxed it’s like that, but then add a sharp pinch or a needle injection. The nurse will zap you 4 times and then have to put coolant on the nosal as it gets hot. The nurse should also ice the area first before treating the zone area (i had full back)

- Smells like burning hairs
- My first two treatments weren’t great because the b##ch didn’t ice me up, meaning it hurt and i got blisters, which all went away along with the burn marks. I didn’t complain i knew no different i assumed that kind of thing happened. the remaining treatments were done by another nurse, maybe the for mentioned b##ch got sacked??
- In between treatments i never really noticed much hair reduction they say you will notice by the 4th treatment.

END RESULT: The hair seems to grow back finer, but it does grow back, i am still hairy!! Is there less hair, NO. Its does grow back slower though. Did i need to get this done, absolutely, if there was a chance it would all go i had to try, i’m glad i did (i just shave my back now)

Does laser hair removal work?? For me NO, does it mean it will not work for you??????
Opinion: You can get your vision enhanced for £300 an eye, you can buy around the world ticket for £850-1000, and both of those options will do just that, but don’t believe anyone that tells you that your hair will disappear, i hate consultants that say it will, a flippin untrained monkey could do the treatment and yet it costs so much money.

I think the medical world do remarkable things but they no bugger all about hair removal. over 1000 is far to expensive and it a rip off. On the plus side new treatments may come out keep looking.

CLOSING STATEMENT: Consultants had to change the description of hair treatments by law

PAST: PERMANENT Hair Removal: They had to stop using permanent and removal
CURRENT: Laser Hair Reduction: Need i really explain

Good luck with your decision, spelling is likely awful as i wrote real quick whilst watching football, Multi tasking skills

"The effectiveness of laser hair removal depends on the characteristics of the individual. Skin type, hair type and pigment are all factors that can determine the outcome for a person."

asked a friend who works in aesthetics/dermatology and does hair removal.

Yes, it works. I had great results with mine. Results vary, of course, and depend on your skin and hair color and the type of laser used. It is best to get a consultation and do some research on the specialist beforehand. I went to this website which has good info and lists specialists in most major cities. Good luck!
