not sure what the cost is (military paid for my husband’s…BOTH reversals)…and neither of them worked. We had to do IVF. So just know that it doesn’t always work.
My friend’s husband has an appointment to have his vasectomy reversed. They are going out of state because of the cost difference. Here it was going to be 2500, and out of state it is going to be 1300. I’m not sure about the chances of conceiving after the procedure, but that is something you can talk to his urologist about. One of my friends is looking into a vasectomy reversal right now, the doctors fee is only going to be about $1000, but its the anesthesia and hospital fee’s that is going to cost the most. Overall its going to cost anywhere from $6500-$8500.
It depends on how long the vasectomy has been done on the success rate of it. If it has been with in 3 years when he has the reversal, there is about a 75% chance that it will work. 3-8 years the success is only about 55%…. and the success rates drop even more after 8 years. The sooner its done, the better the chance that it will work.
My friends that are checking into it, the hospital they are going to will work out a payment plan with them, so I would check with your hospital and see if they possibly will work out a payment plan with you and y our boyfriend. Good luck!
