You can try some of the more reputable web based companies.

http://homeequity-linecredit.com/

is a good site where you can compare whats offered by a bunch of different companies.

There are many cc companies that will send you info on that, we recently did an equity loan, some cc companies have their own banks and I think once people know your looking they all start sending you info on it. Bank of America, Citi Bank, look on line for lowest rates for home equity loans. In fact I can give you the info on the man we went through, we got a very good rate, we were approved 2 weeks ago.

The place is called Security Mortgage, the contact name is Scott Stewart, the phone number is (970) 581-9331, if you mention Pat Gavin referred you he will give you an additional discount.

Actually a bank would be the best option. Why are you avoiding banks? Most banks service there own loans witch is a bonus and the pricing is typically cheaper if you have accounts w/ them. My bank is offering 6.99 fixed or prime-1% on variable. NO APPLICATION FEES and NO CLOSING COSTS! I can’t think of a better deal out there! (chicago land area)
