My father as well as you have been starting to be perplexing for the baby someday in the nearby future, however, he has the vasectomy. We have been try to import the pros as well as cons of artifically insemenating with unknown donor spermatazoa or starting by the vasectomy reversal?
Anyone have to have the same choice? Pros as well as Cons? What would you do as well as why?
Some backround. you am twenty-four , he is 47 with 3 full of health young kids ( 12, 15, 22) from an additional marriage. And approbation you both comprehend which he will be in his 60s with the teenager, you assimilate that.

My husband and I are going to go the reversal route due to all the costs! It is a lot cheaper to have the reversal if at all possible for you two. For the artificial insemination, it would require a lot of money and not guaranteed to work (although neither is the reversal, but not as expensive to do, nor as hard on the two of you). The pain of the reversal is about the same as the vasectomy itself. I have a cousin whose husband had a reversal after 17 years, and they have a healthy 11 year old. The reversal route is also better, in my opinion, because its more personal. You don’t have a doctor involved, and get to have fun doing it! My husband is 55 and I’m 24, and we are planning on getting a reversal done later this year, once he’s back from deployment. Best wishes to you and your hubby!
I gotta tell you that some men don’t feel the same about children fathered by another man (even with AI) compared to their biological children. That is really the only issue, IMHO. How does he think HE would feel? Is it possible to have a donor within the family?
You would have to consult with an expert in vasectomy reversal (some are MUCH better than others) since it depends on how long since the vasectomy and which procedure was used whether a reversal would work. Given your ages, I would go that route before AI if he is healthy. If he has diabetes or high blood pressure or other arterial problems, then the likelihood of success is much smaller. In that case, AI probably would be your best choice.
I would go see the specialist and talk over what the vasectomy reversal would actually require. And god willing it will not be too difficult, and you can have a biological child with your husband. And if the doctor does not think that is a viable way to conceive then I would look into the donor. As for the age issues, lots of people do not even start having children until they are 30 to 40 something! Good luck!
